Waiting and impatience
He was upset. Time was not cutting. Then he read the couplet of Palatu Das ji - Karaj is slowly happening, why is it impatient. Understood that one has to be patient. Impatience cannot produce any fruit. Many a times, the problem comes out only because of your patience, there is no immediate solution in your hands. Just wait. Winston Churchill, who was the Prime Minister of Britain at the time of World War II, used to say that I am a worthy commander only because of my endurance. He followed the policy of stay and watch on many fronts during the war and it succeeded him. For anyone who has understood the fine difference between waiting and getting impatient, the difference between peaceful progress and stressful success will also become apparent. We have to make choices on every front of life in impatience and waiting. Just like you pressed the elevator button, now you have two ways - wait, it will take you to the expected floor and second, you get impatient and slam your feet on the floor, look at the button again and again. As you do this, the speed of the lift will increase and it will get you to your floor ahead of time. Does it happen Obviously not. You have already reached a stressful area before you get to where you are impatient.
Maharishi Raman used to say that spiritual advancement is nothing else but to complete his work and then wait. This will make you feel peaceless.
